Almost like a Beatles song
In addition to the obvious association with the sea, Keith and Jen’s project has another one: The Beatles ‘Yellow submarine’ song. You remember the words of the text that sound ‘So we sailed up to the sun til we found a sea of green’? This is how the guests of this B&B feel while relaxing among the trees on a special terrace in front of the submarine. The sea theme can also be felt everywhere – just look at the round windows, the deck bell, the real captain’s chair, an old diving helmet and many other atmospheric items that Jen and Keith have amassed inside. They all found them at secondhand shops, garage sales and antique stores.

More functional than you think
Anyone who thinks that a small submarine does not fit much is wrong. Apart from the enormity of thematic decorations, the couple’s house is also very functional. There is a bedroom, a cozy sitting area, a kitchen and even a full bathroom. This last one is actually really amazing – the shower that is in it was made by Ken himself and as a shower base he used… an old suitcase! Seeing all this, you’ll be amazed at how all these old stuff and parts have been combined to create a remarkable B&B. Indeed, Ken’s skill and ingenuity are amazing.
A giant toy in a backyard
Despite the fact that the yellow submarine is a fully functional cottage for a Bed & Breakfast rental, it is above all a huge toy for all visitors. Whoever does not come into it, whether they are old or young, immediately begins to feel authentic children’s fun and the call of adventure. The owners, Keith and Jen, feel the same way when they look at their yard. Without false modesty, they admit that they are proud of their venture and that they managed to finish the whole project so well. ‘It was a huge relief to see that everything seemed to work out. We had no idea if everything was going to fit into place’, says Keith. ‘It feels like I have a giant toy in my backyard. As if I can run back to my youth at any given moment.’ Jen also admits that she loves her yellow submarine. They both appreciate its uniqueness and the effort they put into building it.
